Over the next 4 days the 2015 CrossFit Games Masters Qualifiers will take place worldwide. Only the top 200 masters in the world per age division are invited to take place in the 2nd round of qualifiers. From there the top 20 out of each division will earn a spot in the coveted CrossFit Games. This year TEAM PRECISION is privileged enough to have 4 masters qualify! They fall in 4 separate age categories and sing the statement loud and clear that age truly is just a number. Let’s hear it for these role models who give the young guns a run for their money every day!

MATTIAS WIKSTROM (105th Wordwide, 40-44)

MATTIAS

Mattias came to Precision in November and has improved greatly in the past couple of months. He is a strong, fierce competitor, who is a solid training year away from making some serious noise on the big stage. Mattias can throw down with the best of them at any age level. We are looking forward to seeing how he does this weekend!

GREG SMILEY (57th Wordwide, 45-49)

SMILEYGAMES2

What can you say about our co-owner and the 2013 9th fittest 44-49 year old in the world, Greg Smiley? Greg truly epitomizes what it means to be a competitor. He is extremely talented and very humble about his abilities. He exemplifies what it means to be a part of TEAM PRECISION and is wealth of knowledge for competitors of all ages. Greg is looking to earn his 2nd trip to the CrossFit Games this week.

LYNN GAY (121st Wordwide, 50-54)

lynnbob14

Lynn is the only masters athlete in the gym to qualify for the qualifiers out of two separate age division’s. Last year, Lynn qualified as one of the oldest in the 44-49 division, which was really no surprise to anyone. Her qualification this year is a further demonstration of the vastness of Lynn’s ability. Her supreme work ethic, fun attitude, and superior motor make Lynn a force to be reckoned with at any age level. Excluding the elusive muscle up, Lynn has all the abilities to qualify for the CrossFit Games. I can’t wait to see what Lynn does over the next four days!

ALISON LOCKE (25th Wordwide, 60+)

alisonlocke

Alison was new to CrossFit this year, but boy has she made a splash! At 60 years young, Alison moves extremely well as she spent 3 weeks in the top 20 before a few movements not yet in her wheelhouse came out of the hopper. Despite this, Alison only dropped to 25th place, figuring out movements she was unfamiliar with to still take top scores in the world. Alison has a true opportunity to qualify for this year’s CrossFit Games. I know that with all of Precision behind her, she very well just might! Good luck, Alison!!

BILL GRUNDLER (1st Worldwide, 44-49)

grundler2

Bill is not a member of Precision, but he is coached by Coach Mike, which makes him an honorary part of our family. Bill is one of the biggest names in CrossFit who has qualified every year for the Games. However, he has never accepted his invitation, preferring to always compete alongside the young guys at the regional level in an attempt to earn a spot to the big show. This year Bill is coming off ACL reconstruction surgery from a tear he received at last year’s So Cal Regional. So far he has dominated his age group with the question remaining, “Will Bill accept his invitation and compete at the 2015 CrossFit Games?” We will find out soon!
