It has been quite a week at Precision CrossFit as we have received a lot of main site love from HQ. But in all honesty, I really do not think it is luck but rather the love and support of the amazing CrossFit community. Being good to one another and supporting each other’s endeavors is what makes CrossFit such a unique sport. We are a new box as far as our affiliation is concerned, but we started laying the ground work for our community well before we ever opened our doors. We took care of one another, cared for each other, and were willing to see the good in everyone. We understood that CrossFit was a global community from the beginning and embraced it. We have become heavily involved in the local competition scene programming for various events and have had our members, such as Billy Farah, be an event coordinator for the So Cal Regional. We have embraced our athlete’s in their wishes to want to compete and have trained and given them avenues to do so. I was once told that having competitive CrossFitters does nothing for your CrossFit. The rational behind this statement was because they don’t pay anything. Due to the fact that most competitors are your coach’s that is usually the case. But I disagree in regards to them doing nothing for a CrossFit. They are what make a CrossFit. They inspire, motivate, and support everyone. Their hard work helps put your box in the spotlight and give all your members someone to cheer for or even look up to. Heck I can even give you an example, Katie Crowe.
Katie Crowe is not only a top competitive CrossFitter, but most importantly she is one of our beloved coach’s. She brings it every morning and always with a smile on her face. She has a knack for coaching and loves to help people get better. Katie’s picture on the main site today not only represents Katie the amazing competitor. It represents Katie the person and what she represents; hard work, determination, and perseverance. Katie never quits, whether it be with her training or in earning her recent masters degree. She represents how powerful and strong we all can be when we set our minds to something. She is an inspiration to all our members providing some a person to cheer for, and for others a person to inspire to be like. Fitness-Strength-Community not only represents what Precision CrossFit strives to be about it also represents what Katie Crowe is about. Congratulations Katie! Looking forward to watching you kill it this weekend.
