I was asked this question over the weekend: What is the characteristic of a Regional/Games level athlete as compared to “good” CrossFit athlete?
I thought about my answer for a brief moment and said this:

The difference is mentality. A good CrossFitter goes on to the competition floor and says; “I can beat these guys.” A Games level athlete says; ” These guys have got to beat me.”

Although, I said this in regards to CrossFit athletes. I believe this for all walks of life. This is of course true for any sport but I feel it has merit in terms of life skills as well. Walking into a classroom to teach I always say; “I am going to be the best teacher these kids see today” It is the same concept. If you want to be the best at something. Then you have to believe that you truly are… the best. You do not have to flaunt it or anything. The best kind of people are normally those silent killers. The ones with all the work ethic. I always found that the ones with all bark… definetely always have no bite. Just like I always say. It is always about perspective. How your perceive yourself mentally is normally how you will carrie yourself in and out of the arena.
