I had an awesome time presenting my work with adolescent athletes at the NSCA National Conference this weekend. The days were long with early wakeups Thursday – Saturday but it was entirely worth it. I spoke to a crowded room of coaches eager to hear about my methods. It was a surreal experience with even an introduction from another peer. It was kind of crazy to have your stats read to others before you are about to speak as Emalee stated to me after; “That’s not the same guy I have been with for 16 years. It’s just Mike.” Although, I am beginning to accomplish many of the things I set my mind to since I began my career as a strength and conditioning coach I know I must remember one very important thing. I am still me. I can’t allow myself to become thick headed or arrogant. I still have much to learn and know I can never become complacent. Regardless of success nothing can ever take away the passion I have for what I do and the people I need to help. I love Precision because I look forward to seeing you all. I enjoy helping you change your lives and dedicating my time to adjusting your diets, looking at your lifts and hearing your thoughts. My good friend Ritchie Martinez reminded me last week that initial’s after someone’s name don’t mean anything. It is what that person does with those initials and how humble they can remain that does. I promise to remain humbly your servant P.C. and look forward to working with you all again this week in any way that I can. For now though, I will savor the moments from this weekend just a little bit longer. See you in the gym!
