LYNNHELMET

During the competition yesterday I hit a low as a competitor. Katie and I were doing really well and were in prime position to take a podium spot. Then I messed up on the floater workout, which I knew would cause us to drop places, putting us out of contention. I have always prided myself on being the kind of competitor that did not make mistakes. A type of athlete who is calculated when approaching various workouts. However, this time I was not. I became very upset with myself and went to gather myself in the tent area. I sat there for a few minutes in my own head upset at myself. Then Lynn and Pat walked into the tent area. They were loose and joking around as usual, utterly having a great time. Then it dawned on me… who cares! Their attitudes is what it is all about. Not an 8 Min. workout.

It came down to the big picture. Pat and Lynn are two of Precision’s founding members. They have been with us through thick and thin. They are more than just members, but are friends. Their advice is priceless to me. Their presence is always missed when not around. They are 50-year-old bad asses that were competing for the Precision blue and they represent everything Greg and I want Precision to be. They’re a part of our family. A workout had no bearing over anything in my life. However, seeing Lynn and Pat happy means that Greg and I have been doing something right. The fact that they love Precision as much as we do means that we are doing things correctly, because believe me, they would tell us if we were not. I love these two from the bottom of my heart and thank them for putting things into perspective for me. Even though they had absolutely no idea. The happiest of birthdays to you both.

A very happy birthday also goes out to Amanda Handlos who has been with us for quite some time as well. Amanda has an amazing attitude and always gives it her all. In fact I often have to tell her to slow down, hahaha. She is a Precision girl through and through, representing what it means to be a strong independent woman. Another amazing role model for my daughter. Thank you Amanda for your trust and faith in us. Have a wonderful birthday!
