Whats up PC! I know it has been a long time since we have had a member spotlight. I have been meaning to get to them as there are several members deserving of being spotlighted! Today I am gonna give you a goody! Someone who I feel has been long deserving of one, our own Melanie Pisciotta.
Melanie came to Precision CrossFit on opening day. She had never done CrossFit before but wanted to try something different, away from her regular routine. When I first met her that day she was definitely excited to try something new but a little weary as to where. She had multiple options and although I knew Precision was the best place for her, I was not sure if she did. We were after all brand new! I am so glad she decided to take that leap and trust us with her CrossFit journey. Boy, what a journey it has been. Melanie is a phenomenal athlete with an inspiring work ethic. In 5 short months she has picked up and mastered many of the necessary skills needed to be successful in CrossFit and is still only getting better. Her strength keeps improving on a weekly basis, always making sure to take advantage of lifting sessions and coaching. She always has many great questions and has really taken an active approach towards her training. She has become a beloved part of our CrossFit community and I can’t wait for this winter when we get her into her first competition. As a coach it easy to see how far she has come even though she as an athlete often has no idea, constantly striving to get better. She believes she is not good enough sometimes but I would like to share some of her stats with you all. She can Clean and Jerk 115 lbs, Front Squat 130 lb, Snatch 85 lbs and Back Squat 155 lbs, and her numbers go up weekly. She does WODs on the regular RX’d or close. She can handle a 70lb bag like no buddies business. If I had given those stats out 3 years ago people would have said Regional Athlete? Although, times have changed those are the numbers she is hitting after only 5 months!! She has never done any of this before. Watch out CrossFit world, here comes Melanie. We are so pleased to have her at Precision CrossFit and humbled by her work ethic and trust in her coaches. Keep kicking ass Mel!!
