KATIENLI

It was a packed Saturday this past weekend with two big events going on. At Precision we had Brad Davidson from STARK Nutrition come in for a seminar, which was attended by more than 30 people. Brad went over several aspects to one’s nutrition not mentioned or talked about by many other nutrition experts. He went above and beyond to break it down on a case by case basis for all those in attendance. His presentation style was entertaining, yet very informative and it was very clear that all those in attendance got better from the inside out.

At the same time this was going down, our very own Katie Crowe was competing in the Next Level Invitational Battleground II Competition down in Anaheim, Ca. This individual competition is a mixed level event with a large field of competitive CrossFitters. Being that it was Katie’s first individual competition since the 2013 O.C. Throwdown in January, I know she was itching to see what she could do. Although, Katie’s name was the biggest in the field for this particular event there was definitely not a lack of talent. Several women pushed Katie to her limits to take home that first place podium spot. Katie’s lowest finish of the day was 4th in a workout very well suited for her abilities, but with a hungry field gunning for her, and a few judging miscues Katie just missed out on the top 3. However, that was the only workout where she was not at the top, as she won the Clean & Jerk ladder with an easy lift of 195lbs. She then went on to finish 2nd in a two part floater, which included a max sand bag carry and max effort wall burpees. When all was said and done, Katie sat solidly in first place put forth by a few colossal efforts on her part. As a coach I couldn’t have been more proud of her achievement. I was also blessed to coach two other athletes on this day in Jose Guitierrez of Vault CrossFit, and Urbana Sepulveda of CrossFit La Verne who finished 40th and 8th respectively. It was a fun Saturday with many great moments, conversations, and laughs. The CrossFit community is very impressed with the gym you all call home and made it a point to tell me on several occasions. You all make it so darn special, love ya all!
